Paul Malkmus, CEO poses questions and Michael Donaldson, Research Director provides the answers in a live webinar with 118 participants. The focus of the Vitamins D3 and K2: Partners in Calcium Metabolism webinar was the newly reformulated Vitamin D3-5000iu and K2 and why it represents a breakthrough in bone and cardiovascular health, metabolism of calcium throughout the body and a stronger immune system.

Here are some of the key takeaways from the webinar:

  • Studies show that 60-70% of the U.S. population is not getting anywhere near the vitamin D they need, often resulting in weak and brittle bones. Many people take a conventional vitamin D supplement and mistakenly think that they are getting what they need. But they’re getting ineffective utilization of essential vitamin D.
  • You need Vitamin D3 & K2 Supplements. D3 maximizes absorption of calcium and K2 directs the calcium to the right places in the body to optimize bone and cardiovascular health and to reduce the risk of prostate and lung cancer.
  • Vitamin D is important because it affects 200 genes associated with:
    • Cancer
    • Cardiovascular disease
    • Diabetes (types 1 and 2)
    • Influenza
    • Depression
    • Autism
    • Autoimmune diseases (MS, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis)
    • Osteporosis
  • Many people think that if they get 10-15 minutes of sunshine two or three times a week that they will get all the Vitamin D they need. However, the sun’s UVB rays in the winter and throughout the northern hemisphere for much of the year are insufficient to produce optimal vitamin D levels. Also, people with darker skin may require up to six times higher exposure to UVB rays than those with lighter skin.
  • As a result, many people—especially at certain times of the year—need supplementation. Hallelujah Diet’s Vitamin D3 (5000 IU) is revolutionary because of what it does. D3 is the active form that the body produces with the sun’s rays. And D3 helps to absorb more calcium from our diet. K2 directs the calcium out of the bloodstream and into the bones where it is needed. With inadequate K2, calcium may build up in the arteries, tissues and joints.
  • Increased Vitamin D increases production of Vitamin K-dependent calcium-binding proteins that only function when activated by Vitamin K. As a result, people who take Vitamin D without Vitamin K risk a Vitamin K deficiency. Also, without Vitamin K, bone density may be high, but the bones could be prone to fracture.
  • Most people need between 4,000 and 7,000 I/U of Vitamin D daily to reach an optimal level, and 5,000 IU/day is safe and beneficial. To determine whether you have a Vitamin D deficiency, you should get a blood test.
  • While we get some Vitamin K from our diet, much higher amounts are needed for optimal function. This is important because Vitamin K prevents improper deposition of calcium in the walls of our veins and arteries. In a study conducted in Rotterdam, intake of dietary K2 resulted in:
    • Aortic calcification: down 52%
    • Death from coronary heart disease: down 57%
    • Mortality from all causes: down 26%
  • While many people get some K2 from fermented vegetables, the vast majority (75%) rely on supplementation. Vitamin D3 is by far the best solution.
  • K2 is good for the heart and the bones. In a Japanese study, use of K2 resulted in significantly reduced risk of hip, vertebral and non-vertebral fractures.
  • That’s not all. In the EPIC-Heidelberg Study, dietary intake of Vitamin K2 reduced risk of prostate and lung cancer.

So, Hallelujah Diet’s Vitamin D3 is a genuine breakthrough because it optimizes bone and cardiovascular health while reducing the risk of cancer. Vitamin D3-K2 is a powerful combination that supports bone health, cardiovascular health, and the metabolism of calcium throughout the body.
